Lives and works in Waasmunster (BE)

Christine Roggeman captures the essence of an emotional experience in her paintings.

Her large-scale oil paintings, as well as the smaller sized works, transport viewers to primordial landscapes: caves, mountains, volcanoes, oceans, waterfalls and forests. They become symbolic spaces that reflect our existential journeys. Through bright colors and dynamic shapes, she seamlessly interweaves the natural world with human emotions. Her love for Portugal, where the artist regularly resides and works, is unmistakably present in her color palette.

Her artistic approach is defined by an impressionistic play of light and color. Her work is characterized by an explosive, emotionally charged style, with powerful brushstrokes, splashes and biomorphic forms. This dynamic energy captures the movement and vibration of her subjects and evokes a visceral response in the viewer.
