Daniela Schwabe deliberately and unconsciously searches for contrasts in her paintings. Her work mixes and balances between image and form, sign and meaning. This process continues until she gets surprised by her own painting. Only then, she knows her painting is complete and finished. For the artist, this is a way she composes a new reality that does not contain a reference to a reality as we know it.
