Yves Velter is fascinated by humans and especially the philosophical approach, the aspects of life we are familiar with but we do not control. The things we cannot see are more important for the artist. He tries to make them noticeable. The artist developed a unique visual language: human figures in an isolated environment. Their identity, context and sense of time is taken away from them. Existing individuals are abstracted into black silhouettes in a timeless setting and complemented by an activity or a metaphor which has a cryptic tension.
