In his series “The night was never so quiet” this young photographer searches for a silence one can only experience during the night. Days fade into nights and while the artist hopes the nights will lay his thoughts to rest, his mind keeps on going. This lack of sleep results in still images, some of them are blurry, like his mind in a state between wakefullness and sleep. Searching for (artificial) light and the way this light is shaping the night, Marnix Krekels lets the light silently shape his subjects and his dreams.
