Hilde Provoost’s work focuses on the relationship between the reality and the imaginary. Subjects such as human complicity, dualism, femininity and sexuality are an important part of her oeuvre. By distorting the proportions of the head, body and material, her works often end in a pervasive, less recognizable result in which the interpretation is left to the viewer. In addition to figurative work, she also brings abstracts, works that grow out of her figuratives, so that they can get closure and rest.
