Spot on this talented photographer

Nele Van Canneyt (°1973, Kortrijk) makes photographic images in which she projects her dreamworld onto reality. She creates a stilled representation of reality. In recent years, Nele has combined photos from different locations in the same series like she did for her series “Nightwalks”.

Nele van Canneyt started off studying Journalism and Communication Management at Artevelde School in Ghent. She then studied photography at the Sint-Lucas Academy Ghent (1999-2003) with an extension of two years 2 years. Nele is a photography and photo analysis teacher s since 2013.

Within ther series “Nightwalks” she selected the “Moon” series for an exhibition at Bernice in May 2019. Most of the images were taken at dusk or at night. During her travels, Nele Van Canneyt went in search of a “seductive darkness and a strange silence”.
